Temporary Facades, 2015 - present
In his photographic studies, Florian Braakman explores his ongoing fascination with the urban landscape, focusing on its temporality. At renovation and construction sites, pieces of fabric often appear, draped over buildings, shielding both the structures and their surroundings from the disturbances of the ongoing work. While these fabrics serve a practical purpose, Florian perceives a poetic symbolism in them. They hide what once was, and conceal what will soon become the city’s new face.
